GDPR Data Erasure Request
Last updated: 26 June 2026
Under Article 17 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to request the erasure of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”). This page explains how to submit that request to Delphi Social.
We do not operate an automated request portal. Every erasure request is reviewed manually by our privacy team so we can verify your identity before acting - this protects account holders from fraudulent deletion attempts.
How to request erasure of your data
- Send a direct message (DM) on Instagram to @vincent.e.perrin from the same Instagram account you want erased. The DM only needs to say “Erasure request”. This proves you control the account, because only the account owner can send a DM from it.
- Email privacy@delphisocial.co.uk with the details listed below. We will cross-check the sender against the DM to confirm the request is genuine.
- Once verified, we delete the public profile and every dependent row in our system (posts, analytics, demographics, strategy summaries, peer entries), and we record the request in our internal audit log.
What to include in your email
Please include the following so we can act on your request:
- Your full name.
- A contact email address we can use to reach you about the request.
- The Instagram handle(s) you want erased (for example @yourhandle).
- A reference to your DM to @vincent.e.perrin - the time you sent it is enough.
- Optional: any additional context that helps us locate your data.
We will acknowledge receipt within seven (7) calendar days and complete the erasure within one (1) month, in accordance with Article 12(3) GDPR.
What we will erase
On receipt of a verified request we permanently delete the personal data we hold about you that is not subject to a legal obligation to retain (for example, tax and accounting records, which we must keep for 6–10 years depending on jurisdiction).
Aggregated, anonymised analytics derived from your data may be retained, since they can no longer be linked back to you.
Response times
- Acknowledgement: within 7 calendar days of receiving your email.
- Identity check: we verify the email against the DM from your Instagram account.
- Erasure: completed within 1 month (Article 12(3) GDPR), unless your request is unusually complex - in which case we will tell you why and extend by up to 2 further months.
